This course is designed to train technical operators for the design and prototyping of footwear using CAD systems (Computer Aided Design), which significantly cut pattern making time and costs.

Starting from the designer’s sketch, you will learn how to adapt it in order to extract the pattern and all its parts, develop all the required sizes and cut the pattern.

• Digitalisation, with parameters and data entry in the CAD system and procedures to extract shoe patterns
• Shoe size development suitable for all fits, with digital tools
• Cutting, using different materials

Our teaching method stimulates engagement and active learning. Students can experience and learn in an ever moving open lab, with actual projects and role-playing activities. 30% Lectures, classroom activities, reading and studying, 70% Practice, labs, creation and presentation of personal projects, workshops.
